Munich

Idyllically situated at the foot of the Alps, the Bavarian capital Munich, with its 1.2 million inhabitants, is not only famous for its "Oktoberfest".

In addition to the modern buildings, countless gothic and baroque churches characterise the cityscape and contribute to the unique charm which makes Munich so popular all over the world whatever the season.

In the winter, when the city is covered in snow, people drink "Glühwein" at the Christkindl Market or go skiing in the nearby Alps.
